1. The "Offline-First" Guarantee

Lana AI is designed as a local-first, offline application for your devices. When you use the core features of the application—including dictation, real-time autocorrect, and local vector file search—the processing happens entirely on your local hardware.

• Audio Data: Your voice is transcribed locally using on-device models. Audio recordings are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party servers.
• Vector Embeddings: When Lana indexes your local files to make them searchable, the vector embeddings are generated and stored exclusively on your local hard drive. We have no access to your files or your search indices.

2. Optional Cloud Services

While Lana AI's primary architecture is completely offline, we understand that not all hardware is powerful enough to run local AI models efficiently. To ensure a smooth experience for everyone, we offer optional cloud-based fallbacks and enhancements, including:

• Cloud Text-to-Speech (TTS)
• Cloud Text Rewriting and Formatting
• Deep Internet Research
• Cloud-based Vector Services

If you opt into these specific cloud services, the necessary text or query data is sent securely to our servers or trusted third-party providers solely to fulfill your request. This data is processed fleetingly in memory and is never used to train our AI models. Zero Retention Policy: We do not log, save, or retain any of your transcriptions, voice audio, search queries, or text data on our servers. The moment your request is fulfilled, the data ceases to exist on our end.

3. Website and Waitlist Data

When you visit lana.run or join our waitlist, we collect the email address you voluntarily provide. We use this email address strictly for the following purposes:

• To notify you when Lana AI becomes available for early access or general release.
• To send you critical updates regarding the product.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address to any third parties.

4. Analytics and Crash Reports

To help us improve Lana, the application may collect anonymous, aggregated telemetry data (such as app launch times or feature usage counts) and crash reports. This data contains no personally identifiable information (PII) and no content from your dictations or file searches. You may opt out of this telemetry entirely within the application settings.

5. Data Security

Because your sensitive data never leaves your device, the security of your dictations and file indices is governed by the robust built-in security infrastructure of your operating system (such as FileVault, BitLocker, or native mobile sandboxing).

If you wish to have your email address removed from our waitlist, or if you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you may contact us at any time. Upon request, we will promptly delete your contact information from our databases.
